What it is: A scratch repair kit for eyeglasses in which an applicator is used to apply the Lens Doctor liquid to the glass surface, filling in scratches.

• G.G., Topeka, Kan.: "I applied it and let it sit for awhile. When I checked up on them, I tried my glasses on and felt like looking through the bottom of a glass soda bottle. I washed and rubbed most of it off and that made them even worse than before I applied the Lens Doctor."

• John Sojourner: "Wow ... this item is horrible. I used it on the lens over the viewscreen on my cell phone and it looked as if it was painted with clear shellac. Not only that but it left tiny fibers all in it to dry. These came off of the application brush. I can not imagine applying this to eyeglasses, or the fact that it is actually sold for that purpose. Lame, lame, lame."
