Review: Glass Wizard

glass wizard review The Glass Wizard Works ...
But Does It Work Better?

There are three kinds of "as seen on tv products:" those that don't work and are complete wastes of money; those that do what they claim they'll do, but might not justify spending the money; and those that do what they claim and are well worth the money.

I put the Glass Wizard into the middle category. It works - the Glass Wizard does clean glass. But should you spend money on it? For some people, the answer might be yes (more on that below), but most people, I think, will find it just as easy to use another product, one that I like to call the "old rag."

Or maybe I should call it "Old Rag Wizard" and start marketing it.

The Glass Wizard comes in a package that includes the tool itself; two reversible, reusable "microfiber cleaning bonnets"; one mesh "grime buster bonnet"; plus a small spray bottle that can be filled with water or your favorite glass cleaning product. Also include are good instructions, plus a re-order form for replacement bonnets.

The bonnets are fitted fabrics that slide over the plastic, triangular head of the Glass Wizard. That head swivels up and down and is attached to a plastic handle that includes a fitted foam grip.

We spent $9.99 for our Glass Wizard, so it's not like you'll be wasting a lot of money even if you purchase this product and find that it's not as useful as you had hoped.

But will it be as useful as you hoped? As we said above, it does clean glass, but we didn't notice any great improvement over simply using an old rag or any other cleaning fabric.

However, there might be some people for whom the Glass Wizard is a good fit. Anyone who lives in a house with high windows that previously required you to stand on chairs, stools or step-ladders to reach their tops might consider the Glass Wizard. The bottom of the Glass Wizard can be unscrewed, allowing the handle to then be screwed onto a threaded pole (for example, the pole to which a broom is attached).

That's a nice feature.
